A review of the wave propagation can be read in the logbook. How does it come about?

The value ✴/ corresponds to the impression of the listening experience that arises when I listen to and evaluate the recording for the first time. The purpose of the exercise is to better understand medium wave propagation and later to have a comprehensible assessment of the recording stored in the archive.

Should your personal assessment deviate from this: no problem. Already 300 km away from my location it could have looked completely different.

(Note: Greyline and midday altitude not relevant.)

The path of propagation from central and southern Africa towards Europe lies in the deepest darkness, the first station was Radio Gothel heard from Jabure, Nigeria at 1731 UT on 917 kHz. Radio Nigeria from Kaduna stepped in at 1847 UT on 594 kHz. Radio Benue from Markurdi was the last station from Nigeria to be logged on 918 kHz with the national anthem at the end of transmission at 2305 UT. For a few minutes at 2208 UT, Magic 828 emerged from Klipheuwel, South Africa. Smooth Radio from Bournemouth with 0.27 kW could be completely faded out. The antenna used was the K9AY pointing south-east. The path towards Asia was closed.
